Even the positive realize the stark comparison between CMKX & a Nazi Death Camp. They tell you one thing, then you're on a train to a very different location.

It's not a comparison, ishmel... it's called "the use of illustrations".
...but, I'm not surprised to see you miss the context in favor of finding fault. Lately, it's just what you do...
imo, of course...

Lately, it's just what you do... imo, of course... Ed....although you are correct....it was used as an illustration....maybe you will agree that there are far more connections that can be made with hundreds of other topics than the need to bring forth the topic of Nazi Germany....when you use a topic as an illustration you are in essence making a point as compared to that illustration....so to even say the name CMKX in any context with Nazi Germany is a lack of tactfulness at best... I am not looking to find fault nor did I miss the context in which it was used but I would suggest other avenues would have been more appropriate...IMHO

Georgie: his point had nothing to do with the concentration camp, but rather, how Prof Trachtenberg dealt with his situation, and how we might benefit from considering his mindset.
"While the scale of severity measuring our situation in no way comes close to Professor Trachtenberg's situation, there are some lessons to be taken away and applied."
My response was simply to point out to one of our friends, that whether he's conscious of it or not, he seems to be going out of his way to tear at anything that's meant to be positive... in this case, not even a pro-hodges or a pre-payment post.

Ed Your point is well taken and clearly understood....with that being said the mind set could have been derived from many other people that have endured far less than Professor Trachtenberg.....that is my only point.... Let me put it in baseball terms....I would never use Sandy Koufax in the same sentence as Oliver Perez...be it in comparison or illustration...it is just wrong....they are in two different worlds... We can continue to agree to disagree on this one....

Chuck,
I like the story and the correlation. However, I believe most of us are doing the exact same thing on a daily basis. Everyone has a different "normal" in their activities of daily living.
Coping mechanisms are as varied as people's responses to illustrations such as this, all of which I find interesting and sometimes fascinating.
Thanks for the post.
Mike
