It's been 10 years... since Katrina. I vividly remember this awful tragedy, watching it on the News, mesmerized by what that storm did to New Orleans and surrounding states. I was so affected that I woke up at 4:00 and put this down in verse.
"This song is about a man who died in the tragedy of Katrina. As he's Risin' up to heaven... he views the destruction the Hurricane brought to the area he loved and pleads with America to help!" This is in Remembrance.
Let's never forget the past and continue to help those less fortunate and in need.

The Spirit of New Orleans
Written by JudoJack ( adapted from The City of New Orleans )
I am called the Spirit of New Orleans,
A'driftin' now toward heaven's lighted Gate.
I see people dyin'... as I'm risin'
Katrina's left destruction in her Wake.
All along, the battered coast I see
In Mobile, Gulf Port, Biloxi,
The storm brought devastation... and it's feared.
That we'll be countin' many more
As we unravel from the storm
Oh Lord, give strength to those remainin' here.
CHORUS:
Good morning America... Where are ya?
Don't you know me, I'm your native son,
I am called the Spirit of New Orleans,
As I'm lifted up... I see my life is done.
I see choppers, flyin' near the waters
Liftin' all those stranded to their ship
Good People drivin' boats upon the waters
Savin' lives of those... before they slip...
Into the darkness where I roam
Although I see the Light of Home
I witness sons and daughters... beg and plead
To give relief to people now
Oh, Texas how you've make us Proud
The USA will surely hear their pleas.
CHORUS:
Good morning America... Where are ya?
Don't you know me, I'm your native son,
I am called the Spirit of New Orleans,
As I'm lifted up... I see my life is done.
Destruction in The City of New Orleans
And, Ala'bam and Mississippi States
They need for you to help all those a'mournin'
For me I'm sad to say it's just too late
In, all the towns the children scream
They leave what is a desperate scene
Not knowing what their future holds in store
Can the cities rise again?
With help they can... you must begin
I wish I could be there to help you more.
CHORUS:
Good Night America... Where are ya?
Say, Don't you know me I'm your native son,
I am called the Spirit of New Orleans,
So, Please, don't let me down... until it's done!
