I posted on Tramp's (in response to someone saying there's nothing to this DOJ email)...For those that think this is a scam...the legal trials mean the end of the road and justice against those that caused it. For those that think this is a sting...comments have been made for years that the old company must go away and will be made to look like a failure.
Either way you choose, the court cases against the former insiders pave the way for closure--if only a step in an apparently unknown (non-public) process.
So I'm hoping these aren't delayed ad infinitum as happened to the guy you work with. We've had years and years already. I would love for these to actually happen this time--with definitive result, regardless of what that may be.
Here's hoping.

smeagle DIAMOND JEDI WARLORD Isn't there a legal process for someone to step in and demand these trials take place? What happened to "the right to a speedy trial".
habs2014 DIAMOND MINER speedy trial Also found in: Wikipedia.
Speedy Trial
The Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees all persons accused of criminal wrongdoing the right to a speedy trial. Although this right is derived from the federal Constitution, it has been made applicable to state criminal proceedings through the U.S. Supreme Court's interpretation of the due process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment.
The right to a speedy trial is an ancient liberty. During the reign of henry ii (1154–1189), the English Crown promulgated the Assize of Clarendon, a legal code comprised of 22 articles, one of which promised speedy justice to all litigants. In 1215 the Magna Charta prohibited the king from delaying justice to any person in the realm. Several of the charters of the American colonies protected the right to a speedy trial, as did most of the constitutions of the original 13 states.
The Founding Fathers intended the Speedy Trial Clause to serve two purposes. First, they sought to prevent defendants from languishing in jail for an indefinite period before trial. Pre-trial incarceration is a deprivation of liberty no less serious than post-conviction imprisonment. In some cases pretrial incarceration may be more serious because public scrutiny is often heightened, employment is commonly interrupted, financial resources are diminished, family relations are strained, and innocent persons are forced to suffer prolonged injury to reputation.
Second, the Founding Fathers sought to ensure a defendant's right to a fair trial. The longer the commencement of trial is postponed, the more likely it is that witnesses will disappear, memories will fade, and evidence will be lost or destroyed. Of course, both the prosecution and the defense are threatened by these dangers, but only the defendant's life, liberty, and property are at stake in a criminal proceeding.
**RUNNINGRICH** DIAMOND JEDI MASTER I recall after a meeting with USXP's Richard Altomare, (Universal Express in Boca Raton 2005), that even within a year of meeting, and after a $700 million law suit win against the SEC, they put the company in receivership, liquidated all of his personal assets, and if I recall he served a sentence, under the assumption of selling unregistered shares, all within about 6 months. Not sure if he did or the exact charges, but ummm yeah, we've been stewing on the backburner quite some time, surely we could have been expedited if the wasn't a "PLAM!"
Just sayin

I can tell you that's a state traffic law.. These types of cases go to the system fast. Once you get locked up, the next day you are before the judge and he gives you the court date. It could be up to 6 months. You hold your Lic until that date. Because you are not Judged yet.. I can't see anyone beating the system when it comes to DWI or DUI these days.. If you have more then one DWI you will see Jail time.. MADD and SADD and so on... The awareness is out there now.. CMKM case will see the day light in court.
