Memorial services for John Douglas Henshaw, Jr. will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Chapel of White Oaks with Reverend Cliff Stewart officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Polk Honor Guard, under the direction of White Oaks Funeral Home, Alexandria. John, 56, of Alexandria, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 3, 2015 in his residence. He was born August 27, 1958 in Girardeau, Missouri to John Douglas Henshaw, Sr. and Imogene Danford Holman Henshaw. He retired 24 years of service from the United States Army, having received numerous medals and honors and retired as a United States Army Lieutenant Colonel. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors and spending time with "Adilynn Grace" his beautiful granddaughter. Family time was the most important thing in this world to him. He was a member of THETA XI Fraternity of South Eastern University in Hammond. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology and his Master's degree in International Studies. He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Cliff Henshaw. Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife, Ashley A. Henshaw of Alexnadria; one son, John Henshaw of Pineville; two daughters, Laura Stewart of Arcadia and Anna Couvillion of Woodworth; two sisters, Teresa Bercegay of Folsum and Susie Wilson of Milton, Florida; granddaughter, Adilynn Couvillion of Woodworth; lifetime friend, Greg Flores of Baton Rouge; and a host of family and friends. Visitation will begin on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in the Chapel of White Oaks from 10 a.m. until service time.

Sooooo disheartening... a sad reality for those who knew and loved him!!! Though late, my heartfelt condolences to his wife, family and friends.
Special Thanks to Jay Adobe for his positive contributions and for Duc N Altum remembering JA and sharing his previous posts.
A vivid reminder to never take "time" for granted and to "always do good and positively contribute" every time the opportunity presents itself "in time!"

Anybody can give their NEGATIVE OPINION about any person, place or thing. The question is ..... Have these OPINIONS been backed up with links, to facts, that would substantiate their prattling ?? Until undeniable proof is presented their NEGATIVE OPINIONS and or PRATTLING are nothing more, than just that. AS............ The legacy, to how he lived and conducted his life, says otherwise......
