update appx 8th post down YEP..... delayed again.....errrr...... do all these promised missed dates remind you of anyone??. Brain Damage Shipwright Re: Mark Faulks Book? Reply #3 on Today at 6:54pm » Current plan is for the book to be submitted to the printers (for production of the first galley) around Jan. 4th. I've been heavily involved in formatting of the main text, and that step has now been completed. Mark tells me that he and his assistant have about two day's worth of assembly left on the front matter and appendices. If all that actually goes according to schedule (and it isn't over 'til it's over), copies would be ready to ship out around the end of January.Paragraph from the Previous UPDATE from MARK FAULK.......on 11/28/07 The editing is complete, and the book is in the process of being compiled for formatting and printing. We should have the galleys (test copies) within a week, but because of delays at the printers due to a seasonal busy period and holiday delays, it is unlikely that they will complete the printing before Christmas . A more likely release date will be around the end of December or early January. Again, that¹s entirely up to the ability of the printers to work us into their schedule.

See, now you've become oversensitized to delays and threats of delays. I think the book should include a double blind study that charts the decline and fall of our mental health... having to endure living with the uncertainty of never knowing whether or not what we're reading is fact or fiction: truth or a placebo of rumors.
** The need for a storybook has passed. The ROI conscious shareholder wants a survival manual to escape the jungle, to identify and survive any predators on the path to closure.

I hope Faulk doesn't go beyond sanity in the process of documenting the stock and expectation that wouldn't die. -3bid

update 1/5/08...... from what BD says It looks like February now....... grrrrrrrrr
Today at 6:56am, chrisl wrote: Any updates on the book? You would think that when the updater guy says it is going to the printer he would say it went to the printer finally.
Brain Damage Shipwright Re: Today is January 5, 2008 Okay, a straight-forward update: It's dot i's and cross t's time. Working on front and back flaps, formatting the last of the appendices, etc. The printer doesn't do much on Fridays, so we're looking to turn it in early this week. Rather than predict the specific day (and I'm hoping it's Monday, but one just never knows...), I'll let you know when it has actually been submitted.
From the time it's submitted, it'll be approximately a month before regular retail copies are delivered to TOGI. A few days after that they'll be in your mailboxes.-BD

That number may change slightly after galleys have been produced and marked up. The formatting of the book was quite a technical challenge, because there are several different fonts and indentations that keep going back and forth. So it'll probably take at least two iterations of galleys to get right. I'm guessing it'll be 4-5 weeks until the first pre-orders get sent out. But at least from now on, the process is fairly predictable! -BD cmkxclubhouse.proboards76.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1199748173
