crackerjack:
Chase was down yesterday when I tried to access it around 9 or 10 AM. It was STILL down at 6 PM.
That's not routine maintenance.
There was something special going on... or they were having severe problems.
I hope it was the former...

I have a question for all you packet people...How can the packets be an electronic packet when Acca said they are Aqua colored with a card inside? He said it many times over the years, at one point I believe he said he even saw them. Can they send an Aqua colored packet with a card in it, electronically? and if they were doing this electronically, where would they send it? C'mon, how can you throw Acca crap on this?! Not everyone that is hoping for an ROI here think Acca is anything to pay attention to. I have long considered him to be a lying attention-craving lunatic.

So they are sending our electronic "test" packets to see if the encryption is good enough to handle the real "packets" so they can't be stolen/hacked. Is that correct? Jeremiah: That's what I am understanding from all of this... Secure packet xfers are a thing of the past. We have been doing this for years. No testing needed. If you look at the bottom right hand corner of your browser, you will see the little lock, that means secure packet xfer protocol. You will see it every time you connect to your bank. Also the address line will read "HTTPS://" instead of "HTTP://" The "S" stands for secure. This protocol requires a encrypted response from the target address to ensure that they are the only ones receiving the packets. It is a secure system that has been in use for a very long time. The test packets are just to see if the routing is correct, nothing more. Don't worry about comm protocol, every xfer will need to be verified and transfers such as what we will need will be uniquely encrypted by the banks using the same encrypted schemes that military intel uses, no chance anyone could decrypt it without the algorithm. Also, the algorithm can be cracked by a super computer working 24hrs a day for 1000 years, so don't worry, be happy. Our transfers will be secure. D4E

My guess is they got hit with a Denial of Service attack, but it could be for any number of reasons. The website is back online today, but Chase is being very tight lipped about what the problem was, maybe it was Outsourcing, lol

chase-You cannot log in. It's down again. The website comes on, but passwords don't work. I confirmed this with 4 chase members. Very odd. This is not an upgrade.
