RAPAPORT... Diagem recovered 98,085 diamonds weighing 11,825 carats from its Collier-4 development project in Brazil between March and December 2007.
Diagem reported that 412 diamonds weighed more than 1 carat each for a combined weight of 879 carats.
The Canada-based junior started processing diamonds at Collier-4 in March 2007 and added a second work shift to the pilot concentration plant in October which doubled the amount of material processed. After closing the plant in November for maintenance work, it resumed operations in January.
“The development of the Collier-04 kimberlite project is conceived as a multistage project designed to process the weathered portion of the kimberlite pipe in its initial stages where little or no stripping is required,” said Denis Fracoeur, CEO of Diagem. “We are encouraged with the progress made in 2007.”
The Collier-4 project is located in the state of Mato Grosso, Brazil.
