Re: Question for Mark Faulk
That's a loaded question. If I say "no" then I'll get bashed because "why buy a book that tells us the same old thing?" If, on the other hand, I say "yes, it does contain new information" then I'll be bashed for withholding information from the shareholders (not by you, but by others on this forum).
So I guess I'll just say "maybe."
Honestly, I'm just trying to write a book that shows the world what happened here. I don't know if shareholders will like it, hate it, or even buy it. I know that a lot of people have pre-ordered it, and I'm grateful for that because I've put 2 years of my life into trying to get the story right.
And after all of that...people who have never tried to write more than a negative message on a message board will judge me harshly....people who don't even know me will trash me and attack me personally.
YES, I think the book has new information in it...I also hope that I've written it in a way that will wake people up as to how screwed up our system really is, and maybe educate a few people in how to recognize the scams BEFORE they lose everything. Once a scam is finished...then we're only left with retribution and justice on the one hand (and a little hope to recoup what was stolen) and lessons learned on the other hand.
Bill and Kevin's job is to provide retribution and try to recover losses...my job is to try to get people to learn from this...or to warn others who didn't "live the story" so they can learn from it.
That's pretty much it. It's just a book. I know that people don't want others to have to experience what many of you have gone through...so maybe I can help in some small way with that by telling the story.
Anyway, valid question, sorry about the soapbox moment.
and more from Faulk
Truthfully, I never bought into the settlement rumors. I knew exactly what type of story I was getting into. I KNEW it was a cautionary tale that I hoped would be a metaphor for everything that is wrong with our system. I still hope that. The story was much more convoluted and complex than I ever imagined, but I knew it wasn't pretty from the very start.
I hope it's therapy for those who went through it...but I really want others to read about it so that it NEVER HAPPENS AGAIN. CMKX shareholders have been through hell, in all honesty, and you didn't deserve it. So maybe this story will at least make peoeple ask how it could have ever happened...and more importantly, how can we as individuals and as a society assure that it doesn't happen again?
I think it's a good book, and it wasn't until recently that I believed that I got the story right. I think I did, and I'm proud of it. If it sells, great. If it doesn't, I'll still be proud that I worked my a*s off on it, and that I also contributed a lot of information that is being used by Bill, Kevin, and hopefully by federal authorities to enact a little justice. I tried to make a small difference....that's all I can do, and that's all any of us can do.
