After so many years on this journey/adventure/nightmare (whatever you want to call it) it is still disappointing to hear when someone we've come to know has passed away. Gabbyhayes has gone on from this world. Gabby was a onetime Vietnam War tank driver who became a New York Police Department detective and, later in life, a proprietor of a local wine shop. He died on Aug. 24. He had worked on the Son of Sam case as part of an independent inquiry team. Gabby had been ill with pancreatic cancer for about three months. He was 75. May he rest in peace.
