that proboards fixed server 29. It looks like we only lost around 5 days worth of data... ..But I guess it could have been worse.

Re: A:M/C Server29
The issues are related. There is a hardware issue which only showed up today as part of the further investigations to the crashes. Hardware sensors are funny things, they can either report things when theres nothing wrong, or they say everything is fine until things get really bad
In this case, i regret to say it is the latter. It is quitre possible that despite everything seeming ok for the past few weeks, things have infact been getting worse.
Now i know exactly what the problem is we can take the necisarry steps to sort out the problem
All users will be reciving a week of ad free once the server is back online as a result of the inconvenience caused. I will psot more information once i have it available
Again, my appoliogies Martyn

Regarding Server 29
Hi,
Firstly, apologises for the lack of updates. I was called away for the past 4 hours, and was not aware of the problem because of this. However, Martyn has been working on the issue since he was first notified that the server was down (which would have been minutes after).
It appears there has been a hardware failure, specifically the hard drive. A new drive has been ordered, and is in the process of being installed, and the appropriate programs installed upon it.
Obviously, because it was a hard drive failure, it could result in loss of data on the drive. So at this point, the best case scenario is that all the forums data is ok, and thus it's a data transfer from the old drive to the new drive. Worst case scenario is that the forums data has been lost, and will need a full restore from the latest backup, which was made on the 28th of February. Either way your forum will return to fully working order, and return in either the same state as it went down, or rolled back to the 28th of February.
I will keep you all updated as much as possible, and can only apologise for the inconvenience caused, and thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Regards, Craig

A couple of extra notes:
As i have already posted in another thread, i have authorised the use of free ad free on this server once it is back up, as a result of the inconvenience of the downtime.
I shall review the period of time for this once the server is back online, and i can see the level of data loss (if any)
At the moment i am optimistic that I shall be able to get near enough all the data back from the drive. I wont know for sure until i have had a closer look, which should be possible within an hour
Sorry about any inconvenience caused, Martyn
