Jump to msg. # you've read this before, it's a 2008 article by Floyd Norris, one of the influential business reporters for the NY Times. note how Mr. Norris makes the case for investor fraud in the CMKX case. ALSO, note that he wrote this article a year ago, AND he even makes a comment about how slowly the SEC has moved on filing the charges, AND that the SEC alleges the crime occurred beginning back in 2003.
OKAY. now, come to the present day and compare the sluggish fashion in which the SEC has handled our case with the speedy fashion they have handled the MADOFF case and the STANFORD case.
both of those cases involved investor fraud. the same as ours. we're victims too, just like the people that invested in MADOFF and STANFORD, or at least that is what the SEC is saying.
so, why the difference? WHY are CMKX investors being treated different than the MADOFF and STANFORD cases?
FLOYD NORRIS - NY Times April 7, 2008, 4:21 PM
Making Millions From Fraud
The S.E.C. today filed a civil fraud complaint against the promoters of CMKM Diamonds, a tiny stock that never sold for as much as three cents a share, and was often under a penny. But it turns out you can get rich even at those prices, at least if you issue billions of shares illegally.
This case may not have set any speed records for filing, but it is worth reading, at least for those who have focused on the evil of naked short selling. The fraud, the S.E.C. alleges, took place from 2003 to 2005. I wrote about it in a column in the fall of 2006, noting an enforcement action by NASD, now known as FINRA, regarding the issuance of billions of shares for no apparent reason.
As the S.E.C. tells it, “CMKM’s C.E.O. Urban Casavant generated investor interest in the company through false press releases, Internet chat boards, and “funny car” race events across the country without disclosing that he ran the company from his house in Las Vegas and that CMKM’s primary activity was to issue and promote its own stock.”
The commission claims that Mr. Casavant and others made $64 million by fraudulently selling hundreds of billions of shares of illegally issued stock.
And how were the buyers fooled? Here is the S.E.C. explanation, from the suit filed in Federal District Court in Nevada:
“To divert attention from their own dumping of CMKM shares, Casavant persuaded CMKM’s investors that the reported high trading volume in CMKM stock reflected extensive ‘naked short selling’ rather than ordinary stock dilution.”

Jump to msg. # if we were victims of investor fraud then the least we can expect from the SEC and the DOJ is swift justice.
seeing as how it has taken the SEC and DOJ to do very little with our case you have to conclude that we have not seen justice done in the CMKX case.
why?
why have agents of the SEC and DOJ refused to take action against those they have labelled as the criminals?
the 60,000 victims are real. the money they had stolen is real - all $250m. And yet, the criminals have been allowed to leave the country and take their ill gotten gains with them while the victims are left wondering where their federal securities and exchange agents are.

did you notice that they are accused on scamming roughly $26m. it looks d*mn-near like small time stuff compared to the amounts and number of victims involved with CMKX. notice too they may throw the guy in jail for 165 years. did i read that right? lol
and yet, here we sit. seeing nothing. while the SEC does,,,,, what?

It's amazing to look back at something that was posted two years ago and also ridiculed and knee-jerked forgotten......................................................In light of current events on this day, January 20, 2009.....this report from Sunday, January 7th 2007, rings true in what was reported to Christopher Story from the associates of Michael C. Cottrell...
And now, the piece from the 7th of January, 2007~
THE REPROBATE BEHAVIOUR OF VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY
It has further transpired that Vice President Richard Cheney intervened on 4th January to have all the payments stopped. Given the absence from the scene of the Treasury Secretary, Mr Henry M. 'Conflict-of-Interest' Paulson, who disappeared, as noted above, immediately following the Cabinet Meeting at which he was observed standing around with his hands in his pockets and looking down at the floor, away from the President (a stance he also adopted when he entered the National Cathedral for the late President Ford's service alone after having been exfiltrated from European custody by the British, according to intelligence sources), the man in de facto charge of the money-bags is Vice President Cheney. This official is now in the R.I.C.O. firing line, following the discovery, reported by Michael C. Cottrell, M.S., of incriminating evidence that he, too, may have been diverting funds for his own benefit. More may be heard about this shortly.
Cheney's behaviour is strongly reminiscent of that of General Alexander Haig, who briefly usurped the power of the President of the United States in 1982, proclaiming: 'I'm in charge'.
He subsequently vanished into near-oblivion.
Cheney's intervention reflected inter alia the fact that he is alleged to have forced Ambassador Negroponte to leave his post as Director of National Intelligence, leaving Cheney himself in de facto charge of instruments such as the National Security Agency (NSA), and of sensitive financial transactions following the departure of the Treasury Secretary. Since the Vatican was involved directly in urging and facilitating the Wanta Settlement, not least given its huge holdings of CMKX stock and its insistence that the Settlement MUST be finalised in order to prevent a global financial and economic catastrophe, the tidal waves from this crisis are truly reaching the four corners of the earth. It will be a miracle if sanity returns in time to calm matters and make the Settlement, before confidence collapses.
